About

With courage, integrity, love of the Hawaiian Islands and Her people, five men came together on April 30, 1900 and formed the Democratic Party of Hawai’i. These men – a doctor, two engineers, a salon owner, and our own Prince Kawananakoa – saw the mounting corruption of the current governing body and decided to take action to protect the rights of the indigenous, kupuna, and keiki. Putting the needs of the people before political gain, they set the foundation of leadership in this great State of Hawai'i. From the compassion of John Burns, to the advocacy of Tom Gill, from the foresight of Mazie Hirono and Neil Abercrombie, to the tireless efforts of our beloved Senators Inouye and Akaka, our elected leaders have continued this legacy and put the residents of Hawaii first. We ask that you join us in our efforts to ensure that our value of doing what is in the best interest of our people continue to be the driving force of our political landscape. Please feel free to surf our site, ask questions, and register with the party. We are here to help. We are here for you.
