Dr. Hiranaka is a Harvard educated dentist, physician and surgeon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1988. He obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1990. He went on to complete a 5-year integrated internship/residency in General Surgery and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Hiranaka decided to pursue advanced training in facial aesthetic surgery because it is an extension of reconstructive surgery and allows him the freedom to remain professionally stimulated. He concluded his training with a year-long fellowship in aesthetic facial plastic surgery at the Institute of Facial Surgery in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Hiranaka is certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Hiranaka is devoted to maintaining the highest standards of patient care through continuing dental and medical education. He is a director of the Hawaii Interactive Peer Practicum, the only component member of the Seattle Study Club on the Big Island of Hawaii.
