PIKE'S CORNER All the hospital cats have completely lost their minds. This morning as I arrived for work with my dad and Rome, Bamboo made a mad dash to my dads office door to get in there first. I mean it's locked for Pete's sake. She started pawing at it frantically to get in before Rome and I. As soon as the door was opened she immediately raced to the back bed. My bed. Just who in the heck does she think she is? I decided it was way too early in the morning to deal with a cat with an emotional screw loose and lay down in Rome's Bed. Poor Rome as he walked by his bed that I now occupied, I gave a quick look of dude I am so sorry but that crazy cat is next level. You are way better equipped to deal with her. He walked to the back assessed the situation she had already sprawled out across the whole bed. He decides this crazy cat trip was a solid pass and walked back out into the laundry area and lay down by the dryer. Dad scolded Bamboo and told her to share or move. She loves dad and naturally listens to him. She got up and hopped up into moms then empty chair. I moved to the newly vacated bed (my bed) and Rome resumed his usual position upside down on his bed. All was right with the world once again. Except that Bamboo was still acting like she displaced royalty and some how dad needed to drop everything he was doing to console her for having to get out of my bed. Good grief cat get a life. The entire rest of the day, every time either Rome or I got up to pee, she took our spot. If dad got up after speaking with a client and went to look at the next pet, she took his spot. By the end of the day I think Bamboo had relocated at least 50 times. She could have gotten up into her house at any point but she didn't. No she just laid around eating up the groceries and planting her flag in real estate that was not hers to claim. Rooster at one point also thought he should get in on the action and had to be chased out of the office by dad so he didn't start a fight with Bamboo in the small office. In the mean time Queso was tormenting the staff with his constant whining for food with his ear-piecing meows that rival an air raid siren. I cannot even tell you how happy I was to get home and enjoy the cat free zone. Naturally my sister who had not seen me all day wanted all of my attention and had a hundred new tricks for me to perform before supper. I can tell you I have never been so happy to have mom put my blanket on and close my eyes to the world. I think when dad asks if I want to go to work next week the answer is going to be a hard No. I am full up on crazy for at least a little while. - Ruff Keauhou Veterinary Hospital, Experience your pet deserves, Experience you can trust. 11 Years!
