Aloha, My name is Herbert "Tim" Richards, the elected Councilmember representing you and District 9, North and South Kohala. I'm seeking re-election in the Mail-in primary election on August 8th, 2020.
Who is Dr. Herbert M. "Tim" Richards III? Let me start by telling you a little about myself and how this helps you and your community.
I'm a veterinarian at Veterinary Associates Inc. in Waimea, a passionate advocate for building a more robust agriculture industry. I'm currently serving my second term as your Councilmember for District 9.
I'm a sixth-generation "kama'aina" resident of Hawaii and third generation to the Big Island. Born and raised in North Kohala, Tim grew-up working on the family-owned and operated Kahua Ranch, a cattle and sheep operation that also had greenhouse farming, growing tomatoes, lettuce, and long stem carnations. As a result of these life experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for the lands of Hawaii and the people who work and steward those lands.
Through collaborative partnerships in our community, I bring people together – especially those who have no seat at the table. As an island in the middle of the Pacific, we must come together to become more "self-reliant" and united as one Hawaii Island.
