PIKE'S CORNER Hello April, I thought you would never arrive. March seemed to last an eternity for my family so just imagine how long it lasted for us dogs. March was an interesting month. Obviously I had a birthday and that was the most important part of March but we had lots of other things happen. My mom hurt her ankle really bad out hiking on their anniversary and that was not a greatr way to end the month. She is fine it's just swolen and sore but like she said to dad, she will live to play another day. We had bigger issues to deal with than mom's sprained ankle so like mom said I'm fine, so let's move along. First was the great escape: My idior puppy brother figured out how to jump over a four-foot barrier even with the invisible fence on. Of course this had to happen at o' dark 30 in the moming so my poor dad was out chasing him down the block in his pajamas 2 days in a row. Believe me when I tell you my dad was ks than happy about ir. Thankfully the wonderful guy from Invisible Fence was able to come over and work on changing the signal right away so Newton the nutcase was better deterred from wanting to go and meet the neighbors when they are walking their dogs by the house in the morning. So far so good. Second was the Poo- Apocalypse: I am also happy to report for the foreseeable future my brother Rome and I will be coming to work again. NOT because I wanted to be at work bur because Rome has been experiencing a bit of. le's just say Liquid Aloha issues around the house. these are not the urinary kind either.I am pretty sure after what mom came home to on Wednesday, dad knew that if he left us home mom might not come home again. Mom comes home twice a day and lets us out so it's not like we were stuck at home all day. In fact that day mom was home from 12:45pm to 1:30pm and was back home again at 3:45pm (this is when the afore mention incident occurred). I am not sure why Rome has to poop on moms good rugs but he managed to hit them all. keeping in mind our whole house is tile except for 3 small rugs mom currently has down on the floors in the bedrooms. Watching my mom with a bottle of special fancy rug cleaner and the hose in the rain was not a sight I want to ever see again. Watching my poor sister help scrub upstairs floors and walls, also not something I want to relive any time soon. Let's just say hell hath no fury, and my sister is my mother's daughter and leave it at that. Lastly the death of the nap: While we hang out at work, we have to stay in a separate area away from Newton, because he basically wants to just crawl all over Rome and play with him constantly. Rome obviously needs me beside him for moral support at all times so the two of us are hanging out in isolation until his tummy trouble abates. This is fine with me, except at kunch time when I can smell dads kftovers and I wish that I could be a bit closer in hopes for a small sample the goodness I know is in there. Also when Mom is checking on Rome like every 10 minutes, which is not great for my nap schedule and me. I wish I could be like enough woman go back to your office and leave us be. I know she is just worried but good grief. Trust me mom, if Rome decides to shoot liquid poo out the back end, you will be the first to know I assure you. In the mean time sit back relax, drink your coffee and do what you do girl. I'll take care of the rest. now shh. I am sleeping -Ruff.
