Rome does his following up close and personal in the kitchen under foot and in the way as much as possible. His hopes of getting anything are ZERO. He has IBS and there is not a chance of me giving him a crumb, let alone an actual morsel. I take full responsibility for the fact he begs morning (a spray of whipped cream for him and then some for my coffee), noon (various snacks depending on our location work or home) and night when I am cooking dinner, he always gets to try the majority of the ingredients, he goes back and forth behind the island depending on which side of the kitchen I am on. I have come to expect to see him and when he is not there for some reason, like he is outside chasing geckos and anoles, or he is at the office, and I am home. I feel like I am somehow untethered from my life, if his eyes are not following me around something must be really really wrong. I guess that is why I feed him like I do. I like knowing he is there; it brings me comfort and it is worth it to me to give him a treat here or there if it means he will always be watching over me.
