PIKE'S CORNER Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the moms out there. I don't remember my birth mom bur that's ok. I ended up with the best mom I could have asked for. I really am lucky. I know lots of dogs are thinking about their moms this weekend. Newton is thinking about how to make mom lose her mind, I'm certain of it. I know he is working very hard on it. I just do not have the heart to tell him that moms mind left the building years ago, I mean it might have been after I pooped color crayon for 3 weeks straight. Actually it might have been after 3 of four loaves of bread off the counter got eaten. It could have been when I ran off twice, and she could not catch me. I mean it really was only a matter of time before she cracks all together, with all I have put her through. Newton has no idea that mom already has more cracks than a box of broken teacups. I don't want to spoil his efforts so I will just sit back and see when he figures it out. In the mean time, I guess we need to plan a little something for her for Mothers Day. She really wants to go for a hike. I am sure my dad will come up with something fun. Last I heard she wanted to hike to the lake up on Mauna Kea. I also heard mention of the beach. I guess it remains to be seen. I know we are going down to see my Nana Vicki on Sunday. That means all the dogs get to go on a field trip. I can only imagine how happy Nana Vicki will be to see us all. I mean I am sure she will enjoy seeing my dad after all he is the reason she is a mom in the first place, but I know my sister and the grand dogs come a close second. I am excited to see what the weekend has in store for us. This will be Newton's first Mother's Day. I really hope he understand the importance of the day. I know from past experience that no good can come of him being naughty on Mother's Day. Speaking of naughty. I am hoping that my brothers will get to come home soon. I know how much my mom is missing them. I know that as soon as my sister gets her vaccine, then my mom can go and see them. My family will not travel until everyone is vaccinated. I'm hoping that happens soon I know mom will be so much happier when she can see the boys again. My mom is so proud of her family and it is the thing that comes before all else. Speaking of proud, my sister was just named Salutatorian for her 8ch grade class. My mom and dad are so proud of her. That means she got amazing grades all through out middle school. She studies hard and plays harder. I cannot believe she will start high school next year. I know the winding down of her middle school days are bugging my mom. With my sister being the last kid at home, I know she is trying to take each day at a time but I think several are ganging up on her at once. So if you see my mom make sure to let her she is doing a good job. I know it would mean a lot.
