PIKE'S CORNER I could hear him prowling around hiding their baskets and the eggs my family spent hours decorating. My sister always left out baby carrots for him like the cookies and milk for Santa. The next morning the kids would all sit patiently at the top of the stairs to go seek out their baskets, the edible eggs and the golden egg which was always filled with cash. Naturally to keep it fair there were three golden eggs, and each had the kid's names on them so that not just one kid got it. I always appreciated the Easter bunny's fairness. Never a fight. I always loved to help find the baskets. The Easter bunny is smart though never leaving them at a height or in a place I could access them, believe me I tried. It was always fun to watch the kids set out in search of the baskets. They had to find their basket before they could collect the eggs, so it was a race to get your basket and retrace your steps to go get the eggs you spotted in your search. Now it's just my sister home only one basket to find and one a hand full of eggs to be found. When my human siblings were little Easter was one of my most favorite holidays. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked. I was a much younger dog then and I could still hear so I knew exactly when the Easter bunny toting his baskets of eggs and candy arrived. My family still dyes eggs the night before, but the competition is much less intense. Instead of 3 dozen eggs they only do one dozen. The best part is that those eggs get made into devilled eggs on Easter and I always get one (my sister loves to share with me.) I just can't wait until Sunday. I hope you all have a blessed Easter filled with joy and laughter. Remember to leave out carrots for your Easter bunny. -Ruff Keauhou Veterinary Hospital, Experience your pet deserves, Experience you can trust.
